Chapter Five - Josh's little world part 2

"So what you wanna know" He asked.
"I don't know... what you wanna tell me?" I said.
"Let's see... I'll tell you about my family, that will tell about me."
"Ok" I said.

The weather was getting worse and the wind making the trees shaking in the road.
He put a love songs cd and started his story.

"So, my father, Jack Belmont met my mum in a diner. Her were the waitress there and she changed his order with another costumer and so they started talk for the first time, and after that he asked her to go out. In a few months Jamiey Pleckwill became Jamiey Pleckwill Belmont. They merried in the Hawaii alone, and they are very happy. My father is a businessman and own lot of stores around america. My mum always liked diners and he gave to her this little diner were you came. He called it the City of Fruits because he says that after he met her he started to see the world with new eyes and this city became a happier city to him.
After 2 years they had me. Let's say they were so happy that they didn't know what to do, and so hired so many babysitters that I never had the change to have a mum and dad relationship. I study in the Habor High School and after that I said I wanted to work in my mum's diner."

"Wow... is sad that you didn't had the change of have your parents by your side." I said sadly.
"Yeah... but I don't think of that, they love me and also do I. You can stuck with bad thoughts, they only dind't knew what do to me, back there."
"That's true..." I said and stopped. I looked trought the window, was raining so much that I realized that go to the beach was something impossible. "So... is raining, I don't think we can go to the beach today."
"Don't worry. I said that were I wanted to take you is on the beach, but not on the beach." He said laughing. "I hope you brought clothers"
"Well, I didn't. I thought we were going to visit the beach, not some place near the beach."
"You're lucky I brought clothers and one blanket."
"Why? We're staying for the night?" I said surprised.
"Yeah! I think I told you that, didn't I?"
"No! Josh! I have to work tomorrow!"
"Sorry Dan. But I think you'll have to call your boss and say you are terrible and can't go to work." He said laughing "By the way, what I want to show you is only in the early morning."
"I hope Richard bit this thing." I said while I dial in the cellphone.
"Don't forget you have to tell me about you." Josh said.
"Hello?... Hi Richard, is me, Daniel... Yeah, well not everything, I'm not felling well so I was wondering if I can miss work tomorrow..." He said a lot of things like, -You're lucky you have Kirsten,and she can replace you for tomorrow, but try not be ill. (If you know when you're gonna get ill) "Ok, thanks Richard. Good morning"
Josh looked at me with his deeply blue eyes and said "So...?"
"You're a lucky man" I said laughing.
"See?! I knew you were going to stay the night!"
"Yeah... you're full of... - I stopped and look at him - smile" I finished.
"Really? Is that bother you?Because if it does I can stop..." He said laughing.
"I don't want, I like to see your smile" I said while I looked the road.
"And I like yourse" He said looking at me. His crooked smile was perfect. He was more beautiful then he was and I couldn't stop looking at him.
"Well I think is your turn to tell the story" He said.
"Are you sure?" Looking at him was away better.
"Yeah, I wanna know about you" He said.
"Ok... I'll tell you like, a short short short party" I said laughing.
"There's no funny. I wanna know everything."
"You'll know. Quick"

I changed the cd and put No angel from Dido. The rain was falling as a waterfall.
"So, My mum Abgail met my dad in the school and merried him in two weeks, and you see..." I was interrupted.
"You're saying your mother got married two weeks after she met your father?"
"Is pretty much that" I said laughing. "Well as I was saying, she wasn't happy with him and wanted broke up, but then she got pregant of me and she forgot the break up thing, after I born she break up and after that we never saw him again. Some says he died after a few weeks, but I don't believe. She worked as a attendant in Wal-Mart store and became a vice president after some years. I finished school and started working at this store and I started some theather school but I quit. That's pretty much about me, I guess."
"Yeah... I was hoping something like And then a alien came and brought me to my mum..." He said laughing.
"There's not funny Josh" I punched his arm.
"Ok! You don't need to punch me..." He said with his crooked smile.
"Sorry...'
"Don't worry. Anyways, you're sucks like a punisher"
"Hey!!!"
"Sorry..." He said laughing. "So... we're here!"
I can't believe I thought. It didn't passed three hours with this little talk...

"You really could stop with joke" I said looking at his eyes.
"I'm serious, I didn't said that it was on the beach... Is out there." He turned the car to a little road, and even that was 10:30 a.m. was really dark. We only could see the grass illuminated by the light of the car. It took us about four minutes to get there. Then I saw.

"So... What you think?" He said after he stopped the car.
"It's beautiful! I always wanted to see one."
"So your dream came true"He said.

I never though it might be a lighthouse the place he wanted to show me.

Chapter Four - Josh's little world

I woke up 6 a.m. and took a shower, shaved, put my levi's jeans, and my blue polo. And used the same perfume yesterday. I drove to Wal-Mart and bought some things for the trip. And then went to Josh's.
His house was big enough for the film cheaper by the dozen I thought. I parked my car close the garden where other two cars were parked, and rang the doorbell.
Soon a nice woman opened the door, she was blond, and had a happy face. "Hi? You must be Daniel" She said.
"Yeah..."
"Come in. Mr. Belmont will be right here." She said pointing one door.
"Thanks"

The room was quite big as the house looked, and had a nice carpet full with roses, the furniture was beautiful, and had a painting of the family I guessed, a fourty years old guy with a nice hair holding a beatiful blond woman and one kid with beatiful blue eyes - Josh.
I stood there for about five minutes when Josh came with a bag, he looked gorgeous.
"Good morning Dan" He said with his absolutly char crooked smile.
"Good morning Josh" I said smiling.
"So. Let's go?" He said.
"Yeah!"
"So, I know you came with your car, but I was thinking if we can use my?" He said.
"Well, ok." I really didn't understand that.
"Ok" He said thrilling.

It never cross my mind that Josh's father was a rich man. But that was obvious now. Josh had a black SUV. I guess I understood now why use his car, the beach curve was three hours away and definetly his car had more confort.

"Do you llike?" He said.
"Like what?" I asked.
"The car" He laughed "Wait... are you still here?" He joke.
"I don't know..." I laughed.

We were already in the road, and we didn't had said any word. Was cloudy again, and really cold.
I thought he was waiting for me say something as he took the initiative and asked me out. I was really shy. For God sake be a man! I thought.
"So Josh, I never asked anything about you... wanna start?" I said.
"Hallelujah! I thought you were druged." He laughed. "Of course, but then will be your turn."

Chapter Three- Rain

When I got home was really cold. Started raining abruptly, the thunders were so loud that made the walls shaking. I ran to the bath and took a shower before a blackout. I had a glass of hot milk and sat on the sofa. I took the phone and dial my mum.

"Hello?" She said.
"Hi Mum! How are you?"
"I'm good and you honey?"
"I'm fine mum, is raining so much here... So... about sunday...We are going, right?" I asked slowly.
"I think so... I want to, but maybe Carl's mum will be visiting us and I probably would have to stay here, but next sunday is ok for you?" Carl is my mum's boyfriend. She separated from my father about 5 years ago.
"Yeah... I was calling to say to you that my friend would go with me... Are you sure she'll came?"
"Is almost sure son. Look throught the bright side... You can go with your friend. I promise you we can go next sunday ok?"
"Ok mum... I love you!"
"Me too"
"Good night!" I said.
"Good night, anything call me!"
"Ok"

I was happy and sad that my mum wouldn't come. I was happy as I would be alone with Josh, but I really wanted to spend a day with my mum.
I drank my milk and watched The Office. When I realized were already morning.





It was lunch time again and I went to the City of fruits the diner that Josh's father own.
I wake up that morning and took a long bath, shaved, put some nice clothes and used my favorite perfume. I was happier then ever, tomorrow I would find out the place that Josh wants to show me.

"Hi!" He said with his crooked smile.
"Hi!" I said with a large smile.
"So, I see you survived the rain" He laughed.
"Barely" I said laughing.
"So you need someone to take care of you" He said.
"Yeah... maybe" I laughed again.
"So, let me see... Strawberry?"
"You own!!!"
"I knew it!"
"So Josh, tomorrow you're gonna show me your secret place, right?"
"Yeah! Why?"
"Nothing... remember I said I would take my mum there too?"
"Yeah..."
"So... something came up and she can't go, so you'll have to stay with me" I said laughing.
"I think I can survive..." He laughed too.
"Can't you tell me what it is?" I asked him while he made the juice.
"Nope. I want to surprise you." He said with his charm crooked smile.
"All right"I said.
"So... You you are so scented" He said embarrassed.
"Thank you! It's my favorite one!" I said smiling.
"So, what you're gonna do tonight?"
"I promised go to the theather with my friend, why?"
"Nothing... I would ask you to watch a film, but never mind, you can go with your friend. I think we're going to have plenty films to watch, right?" He said bashful.
"Definitely"

I drank my juice and we cuddle and for the first time I could smell his scent. Was fresh. Lovely.
I said good bye once again and drove to the store.


Kirsten and I watched Juno then we had dinner at The French Connection. I liked our little date, but I couldn't stop think of Josh. Tomorrow I would have a whole day alone with him.

Chapter Two - Beach part 4

I turned back and walk out the mall. I was happy!. Josh... Beautiful name I thought.
I really couldn't believe he actually asked me to go out.


I was in my car driving to work happier then never. I'd call my mum and said I was going to take a friend. I hope she don't mind. See, I never actually told her about me... But I guess she already knew. I couldn't think of anything, all I could see were his deeply blue eyes and his crooked smile.


"Dan! Where have you been?" Kirsten said.
"Sorry Kiki. I wasn't felling good." Actually I really wasn't... I only could think of Josh.
"What happened? Are you felling better?"
"Yeah, I am... I don't know I was without air..."
"Anything you fell go home..."
"Don't worry. I already had a juice and my pills. I don't think it'll happen again"
"Well... If you fell anything let me know..."
"Thanks Kiki"
"You're welcome"

The rest of my day was pretty much boring, I finished all the work I had to do and I made a little things so monday I wouldn't have too. Of course Kiki asked if I was felling ok every single minute.

"So tomorrow dress up well" Kirsten said.
"Why?" I said kidding.
"Dan!!!"
"All right! Don't worry!"
"Good night Dan!"
"Good night Kiki"

Was cold again, and the weather was cloudy. Maybe this sunday wasn't a perfect day for beach...
I stopped in the Wal-Mart and bought some things and a new cd - Urban Hymns from The Verve. As Josh said I really was a lucky man...

Chapter Two - Beach part 3

"So... what you do Daniel?" He asked me.
"I work in a store. I'm kind the vice president"
"Really? I mean you look so young" He said very surprised.
"Yeah... Everyone says that but I'm kind what you can call young... I'm only 21"I said laughing.
"So you're a luck man like that song of the verve" He laughed too.
"Yeah! I love that song! Is so good" I said like if I found a child with the same toy I had.
"Really?"
"Really!"

We looked each other for a brief moment but seemed a century. I can't explain what happened but being there with the juice boy I felt safe. I felt like I found what I've been looking for. The missing piece I even didn't know I had.

"So Daniel" He started.
"Just Dan" I said.
"Ok Dan... Do you have something for this weekend?"
"I... really... don't... know... why?" I stutter.
"Well I was thinking show you a place I like"
"Really?" - Why on earth I would say that?
"Yeah, why the surprise?"
"Nothing. So when you wanna go?"
"I don't know, you can go sunday?"
"Hum... I promised my mum that I would take her to a beach we used to go when I was younger."
"Really? What beach?"
"Beach curve"
"Wow! Guess what. The place I wanna show you is there"
"Really?" I said very surprised.
"Yeah! Wierd" He laughed.
"I'll call my mum and say I'll take a friend."
"So it's a deal, right?"
"Right!"
"Ok so you can pick me up at my place, I'll write you the adress wait a minute"
"Ok!"

Meanwhile I ate my bread and drank my juice. I was late for work. Damn it! I wanna to be here for ever with him.
"Here" He said giving me the adress.
"Thank you, so I'll pick you up about 7 a.m. is that ok for you?"
"Yeah!"
"So, how much I have to pay?"
"Nothing."
"Come on!"
"As you liked and you came back so soon you don't have to pay for this one" He said laughing.
"Ok... Thank you!"
"You're welcome!"
I get up and we looked each other for a moment and then we hug.

Chapter Two - Beach part 2

Us 2 little gods was playing while I was driving to the mall. Ok I really liked the juice, but the blue eyes boy was making me go crazy.
I parked the car where were closer and walk in to the mall.

There he was. He looked just like yesterday.
"Hey!" He said "I told you I would see you soon!"
Looking for this side he was right I think.
"Yeah... I loved the juice" I said.
"Thank you!" Again he did that. That voice... calm. I stood there like an idiot looking at him.
"So... you'll have the same ?"
"Ah! Yes! I mean, with milk this time"
"Ok. Do you wanna eat something?"
"Yeah. A bread with chesse."
"Ok"

I sat near the balcony. For the first time I started looking the place. Was quite nice. There was some pictures of fruits on the wall. And the light was cozy. The song background was calm. I found the perfect place to stay. I'd to thank that guy, if wasn't for him I would never enter here.
"So.. Do you like the place?" He said with a crooked smile.
"Yeah! It's so nice! So are you the owner or..?"
"No. My father is."
"Nice. I always want to have a little place like this. Is cozy"
"You think so? The people think here is too small. I don't know I think like you, you know about small is cozy"
"Absolute!" I drink the juice and he still looking at me.
"Do you want?" I offer to him.
"No thanks... See juice is something I really try to scape" He said again with the crooked smile. And his eyes were so blue. So deep.
"Sorry" I said. "All this time and I didn't said my name. Hi! - I stopped as we were meeting for the first time - I'm Daniel."
"Hey! Hi Danie! I'm Josh!" - Nice! he liked the joke. I think.

Chapter Two - Beach

The rain was hard now, and was very cold.

I made a cup of coffee and turn the tv on. I was almost sleeping when the phone rang.
"Hello?" I said with a lower voice.
"Dan?"
"Hi mum."
"Did I wake you up?"
"No. Is everything ok?"
"Yeah, and with you?"
"Pretty fine..."
"So... I was thinking if you wanna come here sunday, I was thinking we can go to that beach we used to go when you younger, remember?"
"Yeah mum! Ok. Gosh I almost forgot that beach!" And that was true. How could I?
"See! I still have to take care of you" She said laughing.
"Yeah!" And we both laughed.

We talked for almost ten minutes and then she hang up. I wake up and took a shower and went to bed.
It took me a long time to sleep. In the midle of the night I woke up to drink water, and I started to think about the juice boy. What it mean "See you soon"? I mean of course if I liked the juice I'll came back, but that wasn't the meaning... Or maybe I was going crazy for wake in the midle of the night to think about someone I only saw once.
I came back to bed. I set the alarm to 6:30 and sleep.



I woke up and made the daily routine. I grab my keys and drive to the Lou's Diner. I'd my breakfast and went to work. Richard's Store - "Where you can find everything". Richard came up with this logo after he saw What a girl wants and don't ask me if that makes sense, but for him does. I work in the department of eletronics. Kristen is the temp there. Richard said I would be the vice president there as the old one got married and moved to another city.

"Hey Dan! Good morning! How are you?" She asked as she always does. With a enthusiasm.
"Hey Kiki! Good morning to you too. I'm fine and you?"
"Not so good. See that boy I told you about is a completly jerke! Can you belive I saw him with another girl yesterday?"
"Really?" I tried not laugh as she always gets the jerke ones.
"Yeah!"
"Don't be sad... he's a idiot."
"Thanks Dan!"
"So I was thinking saturday I want to see a film... wanna come?"
"Well of course Kiki! But this time I pick the film, I don't wanna see another dead came to life"
"You're sooo scary!"
"I'm not... I just don't like scary movies..."
"Right!"

When I realized was already luch time. And I spent the morning talking to Kirsten and forget to do my job. I hope Richard don't make a visit later.
I thought with myself to go again to that juice place. And so I did.

Chapter One - The Juice part 2

"Hey Dan! I see you found your juice" Peter said.
"Just my luck" I laughed.
"Hey, I hope you don't mind, but Ashley called me and I told her to come by, so she'll be watching the film with us. It's cool for you, isn't?"
"Yeah! Don't worry..."

We ate and went to the cinema. I bought the pop corn and the cokes and Peter and I sat in the little pufs down there waiting for Ashley. The silence was all around the room though there was lots of people there too.
"So this thing with Ashley is for real?" I asked trying to make this invisible silence go away.
"Pretty much. See I never thought I would find someone like her. She's pretty
amazing ! You'll see. She likes pretty much the same things we do..." And the great speach about Ashley continued for about five minutes till she show up.
"Hi honey!" She said with a smile that looked hard to keep.
"Hi baby!" Peter got up and kissed her quickly. "Shall we?"
"Yeah" I answered.

The film wasn't bad. But I have seen better ones. When the film finished Peter stayed there with Ashley and I went back home. Was raining, and the temperature was pretty low. I turn the ar condicioned on and my cd player.
There had been a accident in the road and the trafic was pretty bad and took me about thirty minutes to came home.

The Lighthouse

Chapter One - The Juice

"Hi Peter! Good Morning!" I said.
"Hey Dan! How are you?"
"Fine... Hey, I was thinking do you have any plans for today?"
"Humm.. Let me see... I don't think so. Why?"
"I was thinking go to the mall watch a film,do you wanna come?"
"Yeah! What time?"
"Can I catch you by 10 a.m.?"
"Ok! So see'ya!"
"See'ya!"

I took a shower and change my clothes, grab my keys and drive to Peter's. He was there, watching tv as usual.
"Hey dude! You can wait this finish?"
"Yeah..." Why I said that? It took one hour and a half till the end.
"Hey Dan... Sorry I really like this show and I really didn't wanna miss it! So thank you again!"
"No problem. It's ok!"

The weather was quite good. Not too hot or too cold. Was perfect for a day on the mall.
"Hey Dan! Remember Ashley? That girl on that beach party?" Peter said with such enthusiasm in his voice.
"Not perfectly... Why?"
"We're seeing each other"
"Really?" That was a huge news I thought. "Since when?"
"I really don't know.. But it's being a while."
"I'm happy for you Pete!"
"Thank you Dan, is your turn now!" He said laughing out loud.
"Yeah..."

The parking lot was crowded and took me about 5 minutes to find a place. We dicided to eat something before the film. And we went to a new place.
"What you're gonna have?" Peter asked.
"I don't know, maybe a bread with chesse and a strawberry juice, and you?"
"A hamburger"

"Good afternoon!"
"Good" We both said.
"You decided what you're gonna have?"
"Yeah. A bread with chesse and a strawberry juice and a hamburger with fries and a coke"
"Sorry but I don't have strawberry juice.. You see that place right there?" He pointed to a small door I probably have never seen.
"Yeah"
"Go there! They have lots of juice"
"Ok!"

And so I did. I really don't remember seeing that door. It was a natural restaurant.
I walk in and grab a chair and sit. Soon came a boy about my age. With beautiful deep blue eyes.
"Hi! Can I help you?" He asked kindly.
"Do you have strawberry juice?"
"yes."
"I'll want one, please."
"Ok, will that be all?"
"yeah."

After a few minutes my juice was ready. I paid for it. And when I grab it from the kindly guy he looked inside my eyes deeply.
"See you soon" He said.
"Yeah. See'ya!" I answered.

Rainy days

I love rainy days! Is like I found myself! Look up the window of the car and see the rain drops falling while I listen to a good song. There's nothing better in the world. And I guess this song is one of the best ones to listen in these kind of days!

In the end of march I’ll start my college of gastronomy. I hope that with the college I can get a job in a restaurant and in a few years open my own.

I wonder if this path is the right one? Because it's a big step that I'm taking. Everyone that likes me is supporting my decision, but those who think this is crazy is always trying to put me down. "Who you think you are? Mr. I'm the smart one?" they say. I just stood still with my decision and just ran with my thoughts away from that moment. The dreamsuckers as I named them are like crows surching for death animals. And after they found it,lots of them stay near by. Is like the scent is so strong that they run to smell it. How to get out of this? I mean is actually posible? With a bunch of stupid people around you? Every coner you go you see someone looking at you with bad thoughts. Yes! I say. See.. in every darkness there's a sun light waiting to be released. And the same thing happens with you are in light places full with happines. You decice what you want for you. You are the only one who can make this decision. So yeah, they are out there. but who cares? I have my confidence and my friends. I have trust in what I want.

There's a moment in your life when you stop and stare all the things you've done. And thoughts like "Oh! I really should done this different!" or "I can't belive I didn't changed that thing!"
Everyday we are leting things pass throught and we only realize that when is too late. I caught myself yesterday thinking about our old apartment that we sold out years ago, and I started seeing how it would be if we still has it. Would I be happier? Or sadiest? This is something I'll never know. And I really wanted too as I had so many happy days back there, but this lead myself to the sad moment I'm having here, isn't? No. I may not the happiest person in the earth but there's so many things that I'm thankfull, my friends, my mom, and so much more!

I came to the end with my "what if" moment. We make our choices and once we make them we barely can change. And all this time you spent complaining about how miserable you are and that the life isn't fair with you, Oh please! Can't you see the long and beatiful time you left behind you, and for more you cry you won't be able to came back and start again, because the start just exist now. And is now that you make the diference!
